We are quite thrilled to share the results of this report with you. Of course the numbers mentioned is not news to us but it’s always good to be validated by a 3rd party.
The research arm (IDSC) of the Egyptian government released this report about the status of Egyptian and Arabic blogs in general and released some interesting information:
- Jeeran has the largest collection of Egyptian blogs forming 72.6 % of the total number of Egyptian blogs. Followed by BlogSpot with 16.29 %, and then Maktoob with 6.5 %.
- The total number of Arabic blogs is 450.000 blogs with a percentage of 0.7 % of the total number of blogs in the world. And the Egyptian blogs form 30.7 % of the Arabic blogs.
- 76.8 % of the Egyptian blogs use the Arabic language, 9.6 % are written in English, and 20.8 % are mixed.
- 73 % of the Egyptian bloggers are males, and 27 % are females.
- 53.1 % of the Egyptian bloggers are between 20 – 30 years old.
